DIRECTOR

Co-founded in 2008 by a filmmaker and a poet, Motion Poems is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to poetry and supporting independent film artists by adapting great contemporary poems into short films that we call motion poems. To date, MP has produced 7 seasons totaling nearly 100 short films. 

Jane Morledge is a writer and director whose projects include short films, commercials and music videos. Prior to returning to school to study film at NYU, she served as VP of Creative in the music industry running departments at Sony Music and Def Jam Records. She presently works on visual projects that encompass music, fashion, film and advertising for a variety of global clients.

Susannah Nevison is the author of one full-length collection of poetry, Teratology (Persea Books, 2015), and the recipient of the 2014 Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize. Her honors include the 2014 Patricia Aakhus Prize from Southern Indiana Review, the 2013 American Literary Review Poetry Prize, an Academy of American Poets / Larry Levis Prize, and recent Pushcart Prize nominations in both poetry and nonfiction. Her poems, criticism, and essays have appeared in or are forthcoming from Crazyhorse, Pleiades, The National Poetry Review, The Los Angeles Review, 32 Poems, Ninth Letter, The Los Angeles Review of Books Quarterly, and elsewhere.

Jayson Jackson is a producer of Tony Award®-winning theater, Emmy Award winning film and Grammy Award Winning music. In theater he guided the career of poet Sarah Jones to her 2004 one-woman show, Bridge & Tunnel, which received an Obie Award off-Broadway and a Tony Award for “Best Special Theatrical Event.” He produced the first NETFLIX original documentary What Happened, Miss Simone? opening the Sundance Film Festival in 2015 to rave reviews, receiving an Oscar® nomination in the category of “Best Documentary Feature” and winning an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Special” in 2016.

SOUND DESIGN

Andre Pluess is a composer/sound designer based in Chicago. His credits include composition and sound design for numerous productions for Lookingglass, Court Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Northlight Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, About Face Theatre and many others. Broadway credits: MetamorphosesI Am My Own Wife33 Variations and The Clean House (Lincoln Center).

Andre has received multiple Jeff Awards, an LA Ovation Award, Barrymore Award, Drama Critics Circle Award, and Drama Desk/Lortel nominations for composition and sound design.
