Q: WHY DOES THIS FILM NEED TO BE MADE?
This short film, a window into a prisoners point of view, is part of the resistance. In a prison system programmed to deny witness, we offer a glimpse of the torture inside to those outside, and remind them of the humanity held in virtual coffins within solitary walls. Our hope with CELL WATCH STRIP CELL, is to place on the public agenda this vital human rights issue.
Q: WHY A SHORT FILM?
Some of the most creative and engaging stories today are being told through short films. In a political climate, short films act as a spotlight of our times, communicating ideology, vision, style and much more.
Not the product of a Hollywood studio, but of citizens trying to offer a different viewpoint of the subject. The difficulty of getting people to empathize through traditional means is also why the issue lends itself so well to narrative exploration. Once the message is out there, and it’s engaging, it’s an emotional tool that can serve as a catalyst for change.
